About Megan Burton, Ph.D.
Megan Burton has over 25 years in education. She was a classroom teacher in Birmingham, AL and Atlanta, GA in grades 1-4. She is an advocate for celebrating the strengths of ALL learners and the importance of relationships in learning.
She pursued her Ph.D. from the desire to improve her knowledge of research, and thus improve her teaching. During this time she she discovered a passion for research and teaching teacher candidates. She currently serves as Associate Professor at Auburn University, President of the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators, works in the area of STEM education with colleagues, and continues to collaborate with her special education colleagues.
